If people ask me, what is the hardest thing to do in life beside what I know as Christian I should not do, I would say: ask for other support. I am actually happy I could think it the other way. Asking for support is allowing the other person to bless someone else and enjoy the greatest blessing which is giving. Paul repeated one of Jesus statements in Acts 20: there is more happiness in giving than in receiving.
